How to Korean Ground Beef Egg Rolls

Make 24 rolls of this Korean Ground Beef Egg Rolls by following the ingredients and steps written below.

Ingredients:

  • 450 gr lean ground beef
  • A tablespoon of sesame oil
  • Three garlic cloves, minced
  • A pinch of minced, grated ginger
  • 100 gr brown sugar
  • 50 ml soy sauce
  • A half tablespoon of Sriracha
  • 24 pieces of egg roll wrappers
  • Ten cabbage leaves, choose the tender parts and cut into small squares
  • Two carrots, cut into several matchsticks
  • Vegetable oil to fry

Directions:

1The first step to start is to prepare a large pan and heat it over medium-high heat. Then, add the vegetable oil in it. When the oil gets hot enough, you may also continue to put also other ingredients in it like the garlic and the grated ginger along with the lean ground beef.

2Cook the meat until it turns brown. After that, you need to remove some fats produced by the meat off the pan. Here, you may drain around 75% of the whole fat. Next, you may combine this with other ingredients like brown sugar, Sriracha and soy sauce.

3Stir and cook all of the ingredients in the large pan for several minutes until the liquid gets reduced. Also, make sure that the meat turns shiny but not too soupy. After that, you can remove the meat and add with the carrot sticks in it. Cook for around 3 to 4 minutes until the carrots get slightly tender.

4After it is done, you may turn off the heat and let the meat along with the carrots rest until they turn cool. Then, you can continue to set 4 layers of egg roll wrappers and arrange the fillings according to the orders. The first layer needs to be filled with a small square leave of napa cabbage.

5Then, put around 5 to 6 carrot sticks over the cabbage leaves. After that, continue to add two tablespoons of beef mixture on the cabbage. For the sides, you may use a bit water to wet them. Here, you just need to use the edge of your finger to wet the sides.

To continue, fold the sides and roll like a burrito. Do the same steps to the remaining egg roll wrappers. Then, place and arrange them on a tray. Put this in the fridge to freeze, and after that, you may cook the frozen rolls over hot oil for around 3 to 4 minutes. Before serving, don’t forget to drain the oil with some paper towels.
